There is an artist inside every child – the difficult thing is finding the child inside the adult. Pablo Picasso

The Surrealists believed that everyone has an inherent sense of creativity that can be encouraged and used to change a person’s life and work for the better. Today the Surrealist movement has become so much part of out culture that it almost passes un-noticed, but when you know what to look for it is easy to spot the way film, the media, advertising and pop videos all draw heavily on their work.

A series of interactive workshops devised and presented by Ian Chance, Antony Penrose and Ami Bouhassane. Each designed to unlock personal creativity and apply it to problem solving, team work and finding new ideas and approaches.
The workshops explore collage making in a way that is stimulating to everyday life and the workplace.

Beginning with the Dada movement in Zurich in 1916, this lecture traces the origins and influences of Surrealism.

The ideas of the Surrealists and their principles drove them forwards in their time, but it is not always understood how much their influence remains in modern life in advertising, film and pop videos.

Applying some Surrealist ideas and techniques to the modern day business place to stimulate creativity, communication and team building.

You too are an artist – all you need do is develop your eye for finding the marvellous in the ordinary. A brief survey of the Surrealist Object and the found object (Objet Trouvé).

Collage making is a marvellous team building exercise and an excellent brain-storming technique. This presentation is a prelude to a group session for collage making.
